Olympic Trial Standard, World List, Family & Support

Hi Everyone!

I’m so excited to announce that I officially have qualified for the Olympic Trials this July! This past weekend I ran in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, CA at the Occidental Invitational. I won the race and ran 56.45 a qualifying mark for the Olympic Trials!

The Race

I was very nervous going into this race. The competition was stiff and I wasn’t sure how I would run. I had a decent opener the week before but I struggled to find my rhythm. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I stepped on the line. All I could think was I had to go for it and get out! I had been praying for a breakthrough and I could feel that my spirit was at peace… I knew God was with me. When the gun went off and I took my first steps out of the blocks, I knew it was going to be a good race! My rhythm was on and I could feel myself moving fast! As I approached the second curve, I had a mishap and struggled over hurdle 7 and hit it a little but I was able to regain my composure and come off the curve strong, fighting the girl on my inside the whole way. At hurdle 9, I had another setback because I stutter stepped into it. Coming off of hurdle 9 I knew I had to pick it up if I was going to win. I came off of hurdle 10, dug deep and pushed as hard as I could to the finish line and was able to run the girl in the lead down!

As soon as I crossed the line I knew I had run something great! I was clapping and praising God before they even posted the time. And when they did I was even more excited! 56.45! My second fastest time ever! And the fastest time I’ve run in 3 years! And only my second meet and I ran it with major hiccups! I actually could have cried. I’ve been through so much these last few years and this year I’ve been dealing with random injuries and to see progress was such an amazing feeling and relief, I was overcome with emotions. It was just confirmation that I am on the right path! 🙂

Family

My father’s side of my family lives in California and one of my closest friends and they showed up and showed out! I was so happy to be able to run so well with some of my family cheering me through the finish line. All I heard the last 50 meters was “Go Landria” and I was so happy to see their smiling faces after my race! Family is so important to me and I truly enjoyed having them there. 🙂 ❤
