Track Meets, World Lists, Beaches and Books

Hello All!!

I know it’s been a while since I updated you guys. Sometimes life gets in the way but I promise I’ll start doing better, over a month is unacceptable. Lol. Anyways, I’ll give you guys a quick recap of the past month.

I just finished my second year of my M.B.A. πŸ˜€ Only one more year to go! It’s crazy how time flies! Two years ago, I was miserable at a dead end job and now I’m happy, pursuing my dreams, and over half way done with a Masters! I am truly blessed. πŸ˜€ I love my program, it’s so flexible that I was able to take all the classes I needed and end this semester 8 weeks early! While I enjoy learning, I must say I am glad to be done for the school year so I can focus on track πŸ˜€

Speaking of track. I ran my first two meets these last few weeks. The first meet was at University of Maryland (where I train) and I was almost afraid I wouldn’t be able to run because of the weather. Fortunately, it wasn’t so bad when my race came along and I was able to compete. It was a really solid race. I felt good about it. The time of course wasn’t speculator but I wasn’t expecting it to be. I also got to wear a cool uniform, my friend Tori Polk ( custom made for me! Here are some pics! I also have the video posted on my Facebook Fan Page (

I consider the UMD race a pre-season opener or a test race lol This past week I went down to Florida Relays to compete. And man was the weather nice! I’m seriously thinking about moving to Florida when I complete my M.B.A lol But that’s neither here nor there, the race went well. I ran 57.06 which is about a tenth slower than I ran last year at this meet and I placed 2nd. The good news is I had a ton of technical errors and I hit a hurdle early on in the race. Why is that “good” news you may be wondering, because it means I can go a lot faster!! πŸ˜€ So I’m excited for my next race, which will be at… Mt. Sac Relays on the 16th-19th! Β Once again the uniform was courtesy of Ms. Tori Polk πŸ™‚

I also get the pleasure of having my name at the top of the World list πŸ˜€ It is such a blessing. Keep in mind it is very early in the season and most people haven’t raced yet but my goal is to stay on the top of this list! I think it can be done πŸ™‚

Another great thing about going to Florida Relays was I was able to go to the beach! I met a dear old friend, Daniel Kinney, at Clearwater Beach on Saturday. We had an amazing time! Unfortunately, my phone died right away so I don’t have any awesome pictures yet (still waiting on Daniel to send them to me) but I do have a few. We went Jet Ski’ing and got to relax in the awesome 80 degree weather. Definitely a major perk to my business trip πŸ™‚

And last but most certainly not least, I read a great financial book this past week, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” I would definitely suggest everyone to read it. While most of the concepts in the book are the way I was already beginning to think, it definitely inspired me (even more) to start taking action and control of my finances! If you are having financial problems, or just want to make more money, I suggest looking into it!

I hope you all are doing wonderful! As always, Thanks for reading πŸ˜€
